Sixth “Super Lawyer” Distinction for Ken Fellman

DENVER (March 19, 2014) – Ken Fellman of the law firm Kissinger & Fellman P.C. has won “Super Lawyer” distinction for the sixth time, and this year he is joined by partner Nancy C. Rodgers, who was deemed a “Rising Star” in the same competition.

Fellman was named among the 2014 Colorado Super Lawyers, a list that represents the top 5 percent of Colorado attorneys. The “Rising Star” award goes to attorneys under 40 years old, or those who have been practicing law for less than 10 years.

The list is created annually by Super Lawyers Magazine, a publication of Thomson Reuters; and it is reprinted in Denver’s 5280 Magazine. The recognition is given to lawyers among 70 practice areas who demonstrate a “high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement” based on 12 indicators. Award winners are nominated and evaluated by their peers.

“Our law firm enjoyed some impressive accomplishments in 2013, including the expansion into Washington, D.C., with legal and lobbying services for technology companies and local governments,” Fellman said. “I believe these awards are a reflection of the teamwork that we have enjoyed at K&F.”

Fellman specializes in telecommunications law, local government law, community broadband deployment, cable television and utilities law. He was president of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors, a group representing the interests of the nation’s local governments in communications matters. He has been appointed by Colorado Governors Bill Ritter and John Hickenlooper to the Colorado Channel Authority; and he is a former mayor (1999-2007) and city council member (1993-1999) of Arvada, Colo. He currently serves as city attorney in Littleton, and is an adjunct professor teaching Telecommunications Law and Policy at the University of Colorado Law School.

Rodgers, who specializes in employment law and local government law, was named as a shareholder of Kissinger & Fellman last year. She also specializes in civil litigation and transportation law. She has represented public and private employers in connection with wage and hour audits, discrimination claims, class action and individual wage lawsuits and employee wrongful termination disputes. She also works with many clients on issues of ADA compliance, telecommunications and technology, including the emerging use of social media in the workplace.

Established in 1976, the Denver-based law firm of Kissinger & Fellman offers access to legal experts who are nationally recognized in areas that include telecommunications, transportation and employment, plus commercial litigation, business planning, government, social networking, and real estate, and criminal defense. The firm’s emphasis on a practical business approach to legal problems has enabled it to attract a growing group of private and public clients, serving as their general counsel or working on specialized legal projects. Kissinger & Fellman also has a separate office in the Washington, D.C. area that provides legal and lobbying services for technology firms and local governments. Partner Ken Fellman has been named Colorado Super Lawyer six times, including each of the last three years; partner Jonathan Abramson has been named a Colorado Rising Star three times, most recently in 2013; and partner Rick Kissinger won the Colorado Motor Carriers Association Distinguished Service Award in 2011.
